What is Osteotherapy?

It is a system of diagnosis and treatment of a comprehensive range of musculoskeletal conditions. Osteotherapy works by encouraging the harmonious interconnection of the structure and function of the body, considering the wellbeing of ones mind, body, social and psychological elements of an individual.

I am a registered osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), running a private and fully insured practice in East Grand Rapids Michigan. Parking is available on-site.

You will be treated in a safe, fresh and professional environment as I apply the best of both established and recent medical knowledge to address your body’s needs. I am distinct in combining my osteotherapy knowledge with two decades of experience in classical Pilates and fitness.

In line with Andrew Taylor Still (the founder of osteopathy), I believe that the body has the ability to heal itself, and both therapist and authentic classical Pilates can guide this natural process, by bringing more balance to the body.

I am currently accepting new clients. Reach out today to discuss a consultation:

Here’s How Osteotherapy & Pilates

Can Help You to Heal

Structure affecting Function & Anatomy affecting Physiology. The human body is a complex organism in which everything -bones, muscles, nerves, blood and lymphatic vessels, facia and fluid – is all one. The body grows, it self regulates, it heals. These very subtle forces and motions are continuous, just as respiration, and are palpable to the therapist. If these life processes are impaired by trauma, illness, habit or poor adaptation, physiology therefore function, will not be optimal. An Osteopath can feel these disruptions (somatic dysfunction) and gently with manipulation assist the patient in reorganising their physiology to promote health.
If you have any questions please get in touch, I will be delighted to discuss how treatment can apply to your situation.

I just wanted to write and say a few words regarding my recent treatments with Alexandra.

I had been in agony for 18 months with my arm and shoulder getting progressively worse over that time. An injury and the fact that the swimming pools and aqua classes being shut (my chosen exercise) and also doctors surgery’s busy for obvious reasons, I just continued to live with the pain. I finally plucked up the courage to arrange an appointment at your practice and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I have ever made. My treatments with Alexandra have been nothing but amazing in helping with my recovery. She is such a lovely, warm person and so passionate and caring for your continued well being. My sessions with her, although at times painful, have relieved a debilitating injury and have given me back all my mobility and the confidence to exercise in different ways in a relatively short time.

Thank you so much Alexandra, I really do look forward to our appointments even though you always seem to “find” that pain I say I don’t have, you are a little miracle worker!r it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Alexandra, has been treating me for the last couple of months, initially to resolve lower back pain and then to manage long standing knee pain.

She has been awesome. My back is pain free and I have been able to go for longer and longer walks without knee pain. She has been very kind and supportive to me and has an authentic approach that shows her passion for her work.

I have recommended her to friends and neighbours and will continue to do so.

I have been living with chronic neck pain due to hypermobility for a couple of years before I began working with Alexandra. At the same time that I met her, I was considering pursuing injection therapy as a next step. I decided to give her methods a chance first and I’m so glad I did. Alexandra is highly knowledgeable in working with hypermobile people and kindly validates my experience in ways other specialists have not.

She strategically pushes my limitations in ways that safely strengthen and retrain my body. When needed, she also helps relieve any painful tension with osteopathic manipulation. After each session, I’m noticeably feeling more stable in my body and more hopeful for the future. - Natasha King Michigan

Paediatric Cranial Sacrum Therapy

I have recently started treatment with Alexandra, and all I can say is she is wonderful. I had a rotator cuff injury and was sent for physiotherapy, after 2 phone calls and 1 face to face session I was discharged. It has now been 9 months of continuous pain and discomfort from the same injury, so i decided to seek help myself. That’s when I met Alexandra. After the 1st session I felt completely ‘new,’ the pain and discomfort had gone. Alexandra is so welcoming and professional, her hands are honestly Magic! I highly recommend her.
